Information Madonna
is set to play London's Earls Court this summer as part of her first world tour
for three years. The concert, on August 18, has been confirmed in
a posting on the singer's official website, www.madonna.com. The
45-year-old singer says The re-Invention Tour will feature songs from throughout
her career. The tour will begin in Los Angeles on May 24 and dates in Israel
and Ireland - her first in the countries - are being considered. But the
only dates so far confirmed are the Earls Court concert and a show at the Bercy
venue, Paris, on September 1. Madonna's manager Caresse Henry, said: "Madonna
has already started rehearsals for The re-Invention Tour and she can't wait to
get back on stage to recreate her songs from the earliest days of her career up
to the present. "There is no doubt that this tour will be the pinnacle
of her long standing and well deserved reputation as one of the most exciting
live performers of our time. "And, as a special treat to her fans,
existing Icon fan club members will have access to tickets prior to the on-sale
dates in local markets." |
