For a long time the only way to search Usenet was via Deja.com. Their service went downhill as they tried to make money, and sold their business to Google in Feb 2001.

Google has made a directory of all newsgroups. Or search for a newsgroup containing a specific keyword by typing *keyword* in the newsgroup box below

You can now post messages using Google Groups. However, you must have a valid email to do so (try our page of free email services). Google has more information on posting.

Run by Microsoft, and the home page defaults to a search for newsgroups about Windows XP. But otherwise, a powerful search tool, useful for finding popular posts and experts on topics.
